By accessing or using Editobox, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ('Terms'). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services. Your continued use of our services following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Editobox provides a comprehensive suite of free online tools including image editing tools (crop, resize, compress, convert, rotate, watermark, background removal, passport photos, social media generator, SVG editor), PDF tools (merge, split, compress, convert to image, extract images, password protection/removal), and utility tools (QR code generator, random phone/email generators, CSV to JSON converter, digital signature creation). All tools allow users to process and edit files directly through our website, with most processing happening client-side in your browser for maximum privacy and security.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to our services. Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to use our services to:

• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Infringe upon or violate the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party
• Process, edit, or create files that are illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of our services
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, networks, or user accounts through hacking, password mining, or any other means
• Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of our services
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to access our services without written permission
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization
• Create content that infringes on copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights
• Use our services for commercial purposes without appropriate authorization (while our tools are free for commercial use, you may not resell or redistribute our services)

Prohibited Content Types

You may not use our tools to process files containing: child exploitation material, terrorist content, content promoting violence or harm, stolen intellectual property, private information of others without consent, or content that violates export control laws.

File Backups

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your original files. While we strive to provide reliable services, we cannot guarantee that processing will never result in file corruption or data loss. Always keep copies of important files before processing them through our tools.

Output Quality

You are responsible for verifying that processed files meet your requirements before using them for important purposes. File quality, compatibility, and accuracy of conversions may vary depending on input file characteristics and selected settings.

Legal Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of our services complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to copyright law, data protection regulations, and export control laws.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the files you process using our services. We do not claim ownership of any files you upload, create, or download using our tools. For tools that process files client-side, your files never leave your browser and are not accessible to us. For tools requiring server-side processing, files are processed and immediately deleted—we do not store, analyze, or use your files for any purpose.

Our Content

All content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software code, user interface design, and tool functionality, is the property of Editobox or our licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our content without explicit written permission.

License to Use Services

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our services for personal or commercial file processing purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to: (a) resell or make commercial use of the Services or their content beyond processing your own files; (b) collect and use product listings, descriptions, or prices; (c) make derivative uses of the Services or their content; or (d) download or copy account information for the benefit of third parties.

Uptime

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not provide formal SLA guarantees for our free services. Scheduled maintenance will be performed during off-peak hours when possible.

File Size Limits

File size limits vary by tool and are displayed in each tool's interface. These limits may change without notice based on server capacity and user demand. Typical limits: Images up to 50MB, PDFs up to 100MB.

Processing Time

Processing times vary based on file size, complexity, and current server load. Most operations complete within seconds, but complex operations may take several minutes. We do not guarantee specific processing times.

Support

We provide email support for technical issues, bug reports, and feature requests with a target response time of 24-48 hours during business days. We do not provide phone support or guaranteed response times.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EDITOBOX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use our services at any time
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our services
• Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through our services by any third party
• Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the services
• File corruption, data loss, or unexpected processing results
• Downtime, service outages, or performance issues
• Actions taken based on processed files (you are responsible for verifying output quality)

Examples of Limitation

We are not liable for: (1) loss of business data if you don't maintain backups; (2) missed deadlines due to service downtime; (3) copyright claims arising from content you process; (4) poor print quality from low-resolution output files; (5) rejected passport photos due to non-compliance with specific country requirements; or (6) file compatibility issues with third-party software.

Maximum Liability

In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed fifty US dollars ($50) or the amount you paid to use our services in the past twelve months, whichever is greater. Since our services are free, this effectively limits our liability to $50.

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We make no warranty that: (a) the services will meet your requirements; (b) the services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (c) the results obtained from the use of the services will be accurate or reliable; (d) the quality of any products, services, information, or other material obtained through the services will meet your expectations; or (e) any errors in the software will be corrected.

Third-Party Tools and Libraries

We use various open-source libraries and third-party services to provide our tools. While we select reputable tools, we cannot guarantee their perfect operation and are not responsible for bugs or issues originating from third-party code.

Informal Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days.

Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you agree that any legal dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this provision.

Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes with us only on an individual basis and not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action. Class arbitrations, class actions, private attorney general actions, and consolidation with other arbitrations are not permitted.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services at any time without prior notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of the services without notice or liability. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the services.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also provide notice via email (if you've provided one) or through a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of the services after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using our services.

We may terminate or suspend your access to our services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the services will immediately cease. Since we do not maintain user accounts for most services, termination typically means blocking your IP address or browser from accessing our tools.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in California, and you hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue therein.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
